Dubya's favorite tie

"National Review: Obama 'frequently forgoes the necktie'... just like the Iranian regime does."

Holy crap! An appropriately eagle-eyed patriot at National Review has noticed that Barack Obama sometimes doesn't wear a tie, which means he's just like that Ahmadjinadoodle guy! Eek! Secret Muslim terr'ist!

"I've noticed that President Obama frequently forgoes the necktie -- lately, even in public appearances," observes the observant Andy McCarthy. "That reminded me -- I have no idea why -- that the Iranian regime has shunned the necktie ever since Khomeini pronounced it a symbol of Western decadence." I always thought it was because Iran is hot and neckties are stupid. Learn something new every day...

He has no idea why that reminds him of radical mooslum terr'ist dictators, but that sort of thing probably rattles around in his head a lot -- seeing how he once rushed to the defense of the birthers who know the truth, sheeple! about Barack Obama.

Of course, this is so different from George W. Bush, who even wore a matching necktie and showercap when he bathed in the Potomac every morning:



OK, so he didn't. But Bush's look is totally different from those crazy Iranians. Bush's look often incorporated a blue shirt, which made him look less like a third world dictator and more like an inmate of a medium security prison. An American prison, where good patriotic Republicans belong.

-The dangers of grading on a curve-
A new Public Policy Polling survey [PDF] finds that only 62% of Americans believe that President Barack Obama was born in the US. Damn, are we dumb...

Of course, when you dig into the crosstabs, you see the problem -- Republicans are throwing the curve. Only 36% of GOP respondents think Obama is a citizen, while 44% think he isn't. If you ever needed evidence that the Republican Party has totally jumped the shark, there ya go.

It's gotten to the point that they're making us all look stupid, by dragging the average down. That's right, Republicans are making you look like an idiot, by virtue of their own rampant stupity. It's just spilling out all over the place and you can't help but get a little on you.
