Concerned Republican warns Billy Goat Gruff about bridge
-Headline of the day-
"GOP To Dems: If You Think You'll Be More Popular After Health Care, Think Again."
Republicans must really want Democrats to win big in the 2010 midterm elections, because they keep giving them such awesome advice. Mostly, it comes in the form of what voters will do if healthcare reform is passed.
"Those who think they are putting the issue behind them are fundamentally wrong," said Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl, acting as a Democratic strategist, today. "I think their problems are just beginning." Other committed lefties worried for Democrats as well.
"This is such a perversion of the process and a manipulation of the rules, they do this at their peril," House Minority Whip Eric Cantor said, his eyes swimming as he pictured the complete disaster Democrats were steering toward. Despite the pleading from these well-known liberals, Democrats seem unswayed by the wise advice of their electoral opponents.
Everyone knows that, when your opponents tell you that something is in your best interests, you absolutely should listen to them. After all, who wants you to win more than those competing against you? If dems pass healthcare reform, it could be the worst strategic blunder since Br'er Fox refused to throw Br'er Rabbit into the briar patch.
