"Cantor: Jewish Americans Are Democrats Because They 'Are Prone To Want To Help The Underdog'."

It's always fun when Republicans screw up and say something that's actually true, because it really screws up their own arguments. House minority whip Eric Cantor had this problem during an interview with the Wall Street Journal, when he talked about being the only Jewish Republican serving in the House or the Senate.

According to WSJ, "Mr. Cantor believes the American-Jewish community is overwhelmingly Democratic because Jews 'are prone to want to help the underdog.'"

Whoops. See, that seems to suggest the the GOP isn't the party of the common man -- which it's not -- but rather, the party of the overdog -- which it is.

Expect Eric Cantor to let the truth-telling cool off for a little while. It just doesn't work out for these guys. (Think Progress)

Delaware non-witch Christine O'Donnell is getting her ass handed to her. A new Fairleigh Dickinson University-PublicMind poll finds that she's behind her Democratic opponent, Chris Coons, by 17 points. And even Republicans are squishy about her, as she's getting only 2/3 of them on board.

Adding insult to injury: according to the report, the poll "also found that O'Donnell's primary opponent, Rep. Mike Castle, would have a strong lead if he were the GOP nominee."

Way to go, Delaware Republican primary voters. And keep up the good work. The Democratic Party salutes you. (AP)
